Read at BeautyMute ↗I share my photography under the name Aktonymus. Using a pseudonym helps me keep my creative work separate from my personal life and lets the photography speak for itself.
Book a private photography sessionI’ve been a photographer for over 20 years. A lot has changed in that time – the equipment, the places, and the people I’ve photographed. But what I love about photography has stayed the same: working with light, photographing people, and capturing the atmosphere of a particular moment.
I’m most drawn to portraiture and fine art nude photography. I’m fascinated by how light, posture, movement, or even a small detail can completely transform an image. The beauty of the female body is a constant source of inspiration, and I prefer simple images, free of unnecessary effects or elaborate setups, that keep the focus on the person.
Over the years, I’ve photographed many dozens of women of different ages, nationalities, and body types, with varying levels of experience in front of the camera. This has taught me that no single approach works for everyone. What suits one person may not suit another, and sometimes the personality of the person in front of the lens takes an idea in an entirely different – and often better – direction.
In my personal work, I enjoy exploring new ways of using light, shadow, movement, the shape of the body, and unusual settings. Sometimes I have a clear picture of the final image before a shoot begins; other times, it takes shape spontaneously on location. That unpredictability is part of what keeps photography exciting for me, even after more than two decades.
My photographs have received several awards in national and international photography competitions. It’s always a pleasure to have my work recognised, but awards have never been the reason I take photographs. What matters far more for me is creating an image I’ll still enjoy viewing years later.
I’m based in Bratislava and shoot throughout Slovakia. Vienna is about an hour away and I photograph there regularly, usually in a studio I rent for the session or at a location we choose together. I also travel further afield, and photography is a natural part of my trips in Europe and beyond.
